Health is a process rather than a destination. It is good to repeat this maxim often.

Mother Nature gives us just about everything we need to eat with healthy raw uncooked foods. When we cook raw foods (vegetables, fruits, beans, grains, nuts, sprouts) with high heat, fry, grill, bake, boil or microwave we destroy the natural enzymes necessary for digestion of our food. Raw doesn’t mean your food always has to be cold; you can warm food with 110 F air temperature for 2 minutes and still retain most nutritional value.
So the dilemma we create when we high heat raw natural food is three fold:
- we destroy the integral enzymes necessary for that meal’s digestion
- we reduce the quality/quantity of natural vitamins/minerals in that meal
- without the delicate balance of vitamins to minerals, which is essential to activating enzymes during digestion, your body is forced to work harder
And that is Enzymes 101. So what are the solutions?
Well you could become a raw foodie, which is great for some yet not for everyone. You could eat a conscious balance of raw and cooked foods as another solution yet at times your digestive system will need assistance and you already know the special ways in which your body tells you when your meals are not digesting properly.
