Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Paul Campbell studied product and environmental design at Pratt Institute in New York City. He was working as an award-winning industrial designer of such consumer items as the Reach toothbrush when in 1985, he became involved with a New York City group studying Western and Eastern mystical traditions. Several advanced Buddhist practitioners in the group took him aside and taught him their healing modalities so he could work on them, and that began his career as a healer. He studied several approaches before deciding in 1987 to focus on Polarity Therapy, which is a thread that can weave varying modalities together. |
He studied with master teacher John Beaulieu for ten years at the Polarity Wellness Center of New York, and in his seventh year began assisting John in teaching. He has intensively studied and practices Cranialsacral Therapy, Reflexology, Shiatsu Massage, and Intentional Muscle Balancing. He also uses Transfascial Release, a highly specialized form of massage and bodywork that works with deeper body tissue to release cellular memory, reduce stress and bring tissues back into balance.
Paul maintains a private healing practice in New York City and Windham, New York, while working fulltime as an industrial designer for a New York manufacturer. “I take a product from the initial concept, help engineer it, produce it, and ship it,” he says. “In the same way, I take a client from the concept of what they want from a session, decide with them on the deliverables, work to produce the results, and by the end we have a final product they can take out to the world.” He also finds that working with the form and function of industrial objects gives him a deeper understanding of form and function in the human body.
